Wildlife and Habitat

Large carnivores like black bears, cougars, and wolves roam the area around the Kettle River.  Mammals most commonly seen are white-tailed deer, moose, elk, beaver, red squirrel and chipmunk. Other mammals are usually seen from their tracks in the snow or mud-like bobcat, and snowshoe hare.
